This is an elastic round bead Evil Eye bracelet with a small hamsa with an Evil Eye in it
ABOUT THE EVIL EYE
The Evil Eye is known by many different names due to it being prevelant in many different cultures and places around the world. The earliest record of this talisman was in ancient Greece and Rome 3000BC, but is well known in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the America's. Throughout the world at least 40% of people believe in the Evil Eye in some way (Folklorist John Roberts 1972). It is mentioned in multiple religions such as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
Within these countries the meaning is very similar. If someone is jealous of the owner/wearer for any item or position they may have or be in, the negative intent sent by the person will be sent back onto them. The person with negative intent towards the other person will be left with misfortune. The most common colour is dark blue which represents Karma and Fate Protection, as well as Calm and Communication. There are other colours of the Evil Eye that represent other ideas. To put it simply, this talisman brings good luck, and protects from others negative intentions.
We also have a Hamsa Hand with an Evil Eye in it. The Hamsa is also known as the 'Hand of Fatima's in Islam, and the 'Hand of Miriam' in Judaism. It is also known in Hinduism and Buddhism. Very similar to the Evil Eye it is considered protective, but each culture and religion have their own meanings attached. For example in Buddhism and Hinduism each finger represents and connects an Element and a Chakra as well as energy flow, the 5 senses, and the Madras that affect them.
We ask everyone to respect other cultures, beliefs, customs, and to wear these items with respect and consideration for what these items represent for others.
